Nostalgia reigns in downtown Punta Gorda. When Steve purchased the old gas station on the corner of US41 north and Olympia in 2003 he wanted to establish a business that was something to be proud of on the old site and what better way than murals. After a slight delay when we were visited by Hurricane Charley, work commenced and Classics of the Past was born. Steve’s Auto Shoppe features four murals on a building painted in 50’s style highlighting authentic classic cars of the past. On the three service bay doors fronting on US 41N are a classy red 1957 Thunderbird, a beautiful 1957 Chevrolet and a vintage1948 Ford. On the Olympia side of the Shoppe is a 1932 Ford Coupe Street Rod. |
